What is it all about?

One of the most frequently occurring commandments of the Torah is to love the stranger. For a very long time (their captivity in the land of Egypt, and then the Diaspora) Jews were forced to adopt the role of the stranger, but also kept trying to engage with the stranger. This conference aims to explore how Jews imagine the stranger, why some Jews feel as the stranger among other Jews, how Jews confront and empathise with the stranger.
